Welcome to the Michigan Willow Run Chapter of the American Rosie the Riveter Association!

We are proudly affiliated with the American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA). ARRA is the oldest, largest, and most active Rosie the Riveter organization in the world, and is a national organization founded by the WWII Rosies themselves for fellowship and to preserve their legacy. ARRA has Chapters in many states and is an all-volunteer, non-profit 401(c)3 organization. We are your local Michigan Chapter of ARRA!

Where Can I Get the Rosie the Riveter Congressional Gold Medal for my family Rosie?

How do I get a Gold Medal for my own Rosie? A bronze version of the medal is available for purchase from the United States Mint.

The only way you can purchase an official replica medal is from the U.S. Mint at the link above.

Free medals are not available. With many millions of women joining the workforce as Rosie the Riveters during WWII, it is not feasible for Congress to distribute medals to all Rosies, passed or living. One Congressional Gold Medal was struck, and was unveiled and presented symbolically and collectively to all the Rosies at the ceremony in Washington on April 10, 2024, and thereafter will be displayed at the National Museum of American History.

The American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA) Michigan Willow Run Chapter is so proud to partner with the Automotive Hall of Fame to feature Rosie the Riveter Clara Doutly in their new exhibit titles “Achievement: African Americans in Automotive.” The exhibit will be on display throughout 2023.

Chapter Vice President Jeannette Gutierrez made a longtime dream of hers come true when she organized an event to reunite the B-24 Liberator bomber Diamond Lil with the women who built her, the men who flew her, and the brave Tuskegee Airmen who escorted her on missions.

Clara Doutly is a lifelong Detroiter and original Rosie the Riveter. At age 100, she shares memories of life as an African-American Rosie at Briggs Manufacturing in the 1940s and some of her amazing experiences as an honored Rosie.
